Jamal Musiala made a significant impact, scoring a hat-trick after coming from the bench in the 61st minute.
Thomas Müller, Kingsley Coman, and Michael Olise each contributed two goals, while Sacha Boey also scored.
Despite the heavy loss, Auckland City approached the chance of playing at the global stage. The players of the team have regular day jobs to financially assist and support their families.

In a closely contested match, 2024 Copa Libertadores winners Botafogo edged out Seattle Sounders 2–1. Jair and Igor Jesus scored for Brazil's Botafogo, while Cristian Roldan pulled one back for Seattle.
