The UAE continued their impressive run at the 2025 Arab Cup after defeating Algeria in a dramatic quarter-final showdown on Friday at Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar.

After a scoreless first half, the match burst to life immediately after the break.

Algeria took the lead in the 46th minute through Adel Boulbina.

The UAE refused to give in and pushed strongly for an equalizer, eventually getting their reward in the 64th minute when Bruno levelled the score.

With neither side able to find a winner, the match went into extra time. Both teams adopted a cautious approach during the additional 30 minutes, and the 1–1 scoreline held until the final whistle, sending the contest to a penalty shootout.

In the tense shootout, the UAE held their nerve, winning 7–6 to secure their place in the semi-finals. The victory sends the Emirati team into the last four and keeps their championship hopes alive.

With this win, the UAE will face Morocco in the semi-final of the Arab Cup 2025. The match is scheduled for Monday, December 15.
