Jordan clinched a 3–1 victory over Kuwait in their Group C clash at the 2025 Arab Cup, held on Friday at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Qatar.
The win, Jordan’s second win of the group stage, guarantees their qualification to the next round with one match still to play.
Jordan opened the scoring through Muhannad Abu Taha, who struck a powerful indirect free kick into the top corner, leaving the Kuwaiti goalkeeper with no chance.
Saad Al-Rousan doubled the lead early in the second half, finding the net in the 48th minute.
Kuwait pulled one back in the 84th minute through Yousef Nasser, but Jordan restored their two-goal advantage when Alwan converted a penalty in stoppage time (90+3), sealing a well-deserved win.
The victory ends Jordan’s recent run of missed opportunities against Kuwait, having drawn their last two competitive meetings in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
With this result, Jordan sit at the top of Group C with 6 points, securing a place in the second round regardless of the outcome of their final group match against Egypt on 9 December. Group C also includes Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
