Jordan advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup after defeating Iraq 1-0 in their quarter-final match at the Education City Stadium in Qatar, where the tournament is currently being held.
The Jordanian national team will face Saudi Arabia next Monday in the semi-final stage of the Arab Cup 2025.
Jordan’s lone goal came from Ali Alwan in the 41st minute of the first half via a penalty, despite a determined effort from Iraq throughout the full 90 minutes.
During the match, Jordanian forward Yazan Al Naimat was forced to leave the field due to injury.
Initial reports, as cited by UAE newspaper Al Bayan, indicate a potential anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
Al Naimat will undergo further examinations to determine the severity of the injury and the expected recovery period.
Separately, Jordanian striker Al Naimat has attracted attention from Al Ahly SC, which is reportedly interested in signing the player from Al-Arabi SC of Qatar during the upcoming January transfer window to strengthen their attacking options.
