South Africa began their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 2–1 victory over Angola in the opening round of Group B, which also includes Egypt and Zimbabwe.
The first half ended in a 1–1 draw.
South Africa took the lead in the 21st minute through Oswin Appollis, before Angola equalized in the 35th minute with a goal scored by Show.
In the second half, South Africa secured the winning goal in the 79th minute, courtesy of Lyle Foster, earning their first win in the group.
Following the result, South Africa moved to the top of Group B with three points.
South Africa are set to face Egypt in the second round next Friday, while Angola will take on Zimbabwe in their next group match.
