Nigeria will face hosts Morocco in a highly anticipated semi-final clash at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after both teams booked their places with convincing quarter-final victories.
The semi-final between Nigeria and Morocco will take place on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Nigeria secured their spot in the last four after defeating Algeria 2–0 on Saturday evening at the Marrakech Stadium.
The Super Eagles dominated the first half and came close to scoring before the break, only to be denied by a goal-line clearance from Algeria defender Rami Bensebaini in the 29th minute.
Early in the second half, Victor Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 47th minute with a powerful header.
Akor Adams doubled Nigeria’s lead ten minutes later, capitalizing on an assist from Osimhen, rounding goalkeeper Luca Zidane, and calmly finishing to seal the victory.
Morocco, meanwhile, advanced to the semi-finals after a solid 2–0 win over Cameroon at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
Ibrahim Diaz opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions in the 26th minute, giving the hosts a first-half advantage.
In the second half, Ismail Saibari added the second goal in the 74th minute to confirm Morocco’s progression.
