Morocco will take on Tanzania in a highly anticipated Round of 16 clash at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The game will take place tonight at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
The Atlas Lions, coached by Walid Regragui, enter the knockout phase with strong momentum after finishing top of Group A with seven points.
Morocco opened their campaign with a 2–0 victory over Comoros, followed by a 1–1 draw against Mali, before concluding the group stage with an emphatic 3–0 win over Zambia.
On the other hand, Tanzania, led by coach Ángel Gamondi, reached the Round of 16 in remarkable fashion despite failing to register a single win in the group stage.
The Taifa Stars finished third in Group C with just two points, following a 2–1 loss to Nigeria and two 1–1 draws against Uganda and Tunisia.
This achievement marked a historic milestone for Tanzania, who became only the second team to advance to the knockout rounds without a group-stage victory since the introduction of the “best third-placed teams” system, following Benin in the 2019 edition.
