2025 AFCON Draw: Egypt Placed in Group B

On Monday, CAF organized the draw for 2the 025 AFCON in Morocco. 

The draw placed Egypt’s national football team in Group B, alongside South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe.

The top-seeded group includes the defending champions, Ivory Coast, as well as hosts Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Nigeria.

The second tier, comprises Cameroon, Mali, Tunisia, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burkina Faso.

The third tier includes Gabon, Angola, Zambia, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, and Benin. Meanwhile, the fourth tier features Mozambique, Comoros, Tanzania, Sudan, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.

Hossam Hassan, Egypt’s head coach, expressed his excitement during the draw ceremony, saying he was honored to be leading Egypt. He thanked the great players who contributed to Egypt's previous successes and championships.

During his speech, Hassan emphasized that the upcoming tournament would be very competitive, with many strong teams. However, he is confident in his team’s readiness, highlighting star players like Mohamed Salah, one of the best players in the world, and Omar Marmoush.
