On Friday, Firas Katoussi brought Tunisia the first gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics after winning the final of 80kg- Taekwondo.
Katoussi won the final against Irain's Mehran Barkhordari 4-2,51 in the final.
This medal is the 6th for Tunisia in the history of the 2024 Paris Olympics, and the fourth for the African country in Taekwondo.
In addition, this is the third medal for Arabs in Taekwondo after Tunisia's Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi won the silver medal for 58kg competition in Taekwondo, and Jordan's Zaid Karim won the bronze in 68kg competition in the same sports.
