2024 Paris Olympics: Get to Know July 25 Highlights, Results

Yesterday, the second day, July 25, competitions of the 2024 Paris Olympics continued with the ranking rounds for archery and the continuation of the men's rugby. The competitions of the women's handball and football kicked off.

Archery competitions witnessed the recording of a new Olympic records by South Korea's Lim Si-hyeon after scoring 694 out of a possible 720 points at Les Invalides. The previous record of 692, which was set in 2019, was held by her counterpart Kang Chae-young.

For women's archery team contests, South Korea, China, Mexico and India captured the four qualifying seeds. In the men’s event, the top four were South Korea, France, India and China.

Egyptians archers Jana Ali captured the seed No. 63, Ali Tolba captured the seed No. 62.

For women's handball competitions, Angola impressed the world with their impressive performance against the Netherlands despite their defeat. 

Spain women's football team made their 2024 Olympics with a victory over 2-1. It is the first appearance for the FIFA Women's World Cup champions in a major tournament. 

Regarding the major upsets of the game, New Zeland, the holders of the silver medal of rugby seven at 2020 Tokyo Games, and Argentina, the holders of the bronze medal of rugby seven at 2020 Tokyo Games, were eliminated.
