On Saturday, Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola won the first gold for his country in Atheletics after winning the men’s marathon at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Belgium’s Bashir Abdi came second to win the silver medal, and Kenya’s Benson Kipruto captured bronze.
Tola finished the race in two hours, six minutes and 26 seconds.
Tola made an 18-second lead by the 35km mark.
He became the first Ethiopian winner of the Olympic men’s marathon in 24 years.
