2024 Paris Olympics: Egypt's Ahmed El Gendy Set New Olympic Record in Men's Modern Pentathlon

On Friday, Ahmed El Gendy achieved a new milestone in his career after breaking the Olympic record in Men's Modern Pentathlon at the 2024 Paris Games.

El Gendy recorded 1516 points in the semi-final of the competition, securing a spot in the event's final.

El Gendy broke British athlete Joseph Choong's record by 34 points, which Choong recorded in the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The Egyptian player started the day with 245 points and had the second place in pool A, after that he reached 17th in the Men's Modern Pentathlon riding event jumping semi-final with 267 points.

After a strong performance in the semi-final for pool A. He gained 311 points in the event of swimming 200m freestyle.

The total score improved to 823 points.

During the Men's Individual Laser Run semi-final for pool A, he managed to set both a total and Olympic record of 1516 points.

El Gendy previously won an Olympic medal as he earned the silver medal in Men's Modern Pentathlon in 2020 Tokyo Games.
