2024 Paris Olympics: Closing Ceremony Highlights (Videos)

Moments ago, the closing ceremony of 2024 Paris Olympics was concluded. The closing ceremony witnessed an impressive performance that depict the manners and the history of the Olympics since their founding in Ancient Greece, and until now. 

Dancers, Golden Voyager, The "Winged Victory of Samothrace", and the doves of peace. 

After that, French band Phoenix performed an energetic segment and presented a number of their famous hits which witnessed great interaction from fans and athletes.

Also, various short videos for the top remarkable moments of the games, and the contribution of volunteers were showed, in addition to the journey of the Olympic Flame and its carriers for the 2024 edition in Paris, France. 

Regarding the musical segments, the French singer-songwriter Zaho de Sagazan opened the closing ceremony with ‘Sous le ciel de Paris." She was backed by the choir of the Handel Hendrix Academy in the Tuileries gardens. 

The song was Written in 1951, and it was performed then by Jean Bretonnière, and Edith Piaf.

The Divertimento Symphony Orchestra conducted by Algerian-French Zahia Ziouani participated in the closing ceremony.

The orchestra also performed a new arrangement of the French national anthem ‘La Marseillaise."

Regarding the floating piano, French tenor Benjamin Bernheim sang a new arrangement of Fauré’s Hymne à Apollon (Hymn to Apollo), which was composed for the first Olympic congress in 1893. Bernheim was joined by pianist and composer Alain Roche.

French band Phœnix performed, and they were accompanied by various artist like Belgian singer-songwriter Angèle, Kaminsky, Air, Vannda and Ezra Koenig, the lead singer of US band Vampire Weekend.

Grammy Award winner H.E.R. performed the US national anthem live in Paris.

Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre participated in the event during a performance aired from Los Angeles, the next destination of the Olympics in 2028.

Tom Cruise made a great performance as he jumped and raced with his famous bike to carry the Olympic flag from Paris to LA in a segment took Mission Impossible as a main theme. 

The concert was closed by extinguishing the Olympic flame, and the performance of "My Way" song that was originally French song, before it was adapted by Frank Sintra to represent the mutual ties between France, and the US.
