On Friday, Bahrain's Salwa Eid Nassar won 400meter silver medal to add another sports achievement for her country.
The gold medal went to Dominican Republic’s Marileidy Paulino to add Olympic gold to her world title.
Paulino finished the race in 48.17 seconds to set a new record that stood for more than 25 years. The previous record was in 1996 by France’s Marie-Jose Perec.
Poland’s Natalia Kaczmarek came third to win the bronze medal.
This is the second athletics medal for Bahrain in this edition of the Olympics. On Tuesday, Winfred Yavi brought another gold medal for Arabs after winning the women's 3,000 metres steeplechase gold medal.
Yavi spontaneously celebrated her victory after crossing the line, passing Chemutai with an explosive final sprint.
Chemutai was in tears after Yavi captured the first place and set an Olympic record of 8 minutes 52.76 seconds.
