Moments ago, Sweden eliminated the title holders for two successive editions, the United States, from the Women's World Cup in a real battle that was stretched to the penalties.

Sweden won by a dramatic kick out shoot as the ball crossed the lines before it was turned out the nets once again.

The VAR asserted that the ball crossed the line, so it should be counted as goal for the Swedish, delivering their arrival to the quarter-finals.

US exit could be the biggest upset for the Americans as they were the top-crowned team in the tournament, and the title holders for the 2015, and the 2019 tournaments.

This game was the first in the round of 16 to be stretched to the extra time and penalties.
