Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala becomes the first African player to score in three different editions of the FIFA Women's World Cup as she helped in her team's 3-2 victory over Australia.

Australia's Emily van Egmond sent the home fans into joy as she put her team ahead by scoring the first goal in the first half.

However, Nigeria made a fast comeback after Uchenna Kanu delivered the first sucker punch to turn down the mood of the CO-Hosts at Brisbane Stadium.

In the second half, Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala’s finish from a tight angle send the African team to the lead.

Australia's Alanna Kennedy scored in 90+10 to give her team a late hope of getting back on track once again, but their hopes were fast turned down due to the shortage of time.

With this win, Nigeria are now on the top of the group.
