2 Killed, 1 Injured in Explosion in Pakistan

An explosion near a market in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, resulted in two fatalities and one injury early this Sunday, as reported by a local rescue organization.

Bilal Ahmad Faizi, the Public Relations Officer for the government's "Rescue 1122" organization in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, informed Xinhua News Agency that the explosion occurred early in the morning on Naser Bagh road near the local Board Bazar market in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leading to casualties.

Faizi added that rescue workers promptly arrived at the scene after the attack and transported the victims to a local hospital.

Police told the media that the explosion was caused by explosives placed on a motorcycle in the morning and that they are currently gathering evidence.

A significant police force arrived at the explosion site and cordoned off the area for investigations, according to local media reports.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
