2 Dead, 15 Injured Due to Severe Weather in Russia

Two individuals lost their lives, and 15 others sustained injuries due to severe weather conditions in Moscow, Russia.

The Russian news agency TASS reported that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the casualties, stating, "Today, Moscow experienced severe weather with strong winds and temperature fluctuations, with wind speeds reaching over 21 m/s."

The Russian official emphasized, "We took all possible measures to promptly notify the public. Public outdoor spaces were immediately closed."

Sobyanin further stated that emergency warnings were displayed on outdoor screens throughout the city, as well as on alert boards at the city's traffic control center and other locations.

"The unfortunate incident resulted in the loss of 17 lives, with two fatalities," expressed the Mayor, extending his condolences to the families of the victims.

He continued, "All the injured are receiving necessary medical treatment. At present, city services are taking swift action to deal with the aftermath of the incident."
