The Ministry of Education announced that January 19 will be a day off for all students in primary and preparatory schools, adding that it will be dropped from all exams schedules as it will mark the Christian Epiphany day, media agencies reported on Wednesday.

In addition, the ministry also issued the dates of the mid-year exams for the fourth grade which will start on January 15 and will be concluded on January 20.

On the other hand, the exams of the Preparatory schools, and the final Preparatory school year exams will kick off on January 15 as well.

Last week, the Egyptian Cabinet denied all rumors about the suspension of studying due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant globally.

It mentioned in a statement posted on the Cabinet's official Facebook page that both ministries were concerned with the issue: the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education, and they totally refuted such rummoers.

Also, both affirmed that the process of teaching and students' attendance in all educational spots are following the previously set schedules and plans for the 2021/2022 academic year without facing any issues.

The cabinet also pointed out that all protective medical measures against the COVID-19 are strictly applied in the schools.

In addition, the process of vaccinating university and school students, alongside teachers and instructors is going well which guarantees a safe educational environment for both teachers and students.
