António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), considered that the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is getting out of control.

Guterres said, in a press conference, held on Thursday that the (COVID-19) pandemic is a crisis that does not resemble any others in our lives.

He added that mankind is approaching to cross the one million deaths due to the virus.

This pandemic is the first threat to global security nowadays.

Regarding anti-virus vaccines, Guterres continued to say that many people think that they can rely on the vaccine, but any vaccine will not stop the spread of the pandemic.

He stressed that vaccine must be viewed as a global public good, but the virus knows no boundaries.

The world population needs a vaccine that is affordable and available to everyone.

Secretary-General of the United Nations called on the international community to expand the use of available and new tools that can help fight the disease and provide life-saving treatment, especially during the next 12 months.

According to official statistics, the number of people infected with the Coronavirus has reached 29 million and 900 thousand cases, while the number of deaths reached 941 thousand cases so far.

On the other hand, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanum Ghebreyesus, called on the countries of the world to prepare for the next wave of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

He stressed the need for the international community to be more prepared to cope with the coming threats.

This pandemic will not be the last. "History teaches us that disease outbreaks and pandemics are really a fact of life," Ghebreyesus said, in a press briefing in Geneva days before.

He continued to say that by the beginning of the next wave of the pandemic, the world must be more prepared than it was this time.

Ghebreyesus renewed his call to the governments of all countries of the world to invest more in the public health sector.

Since January 2020, the world has been facing an acute crisis caused by the outbreak of the new Coronavirus "COVID-19", which began to spread from the Chinese city of Wuhan.

The deadly virus led to huge losses in many sectors of the economy, especially transport, tourism and entertainment, the collapse of global stock exchanges and the acceleration of the decline in markets of energy.

The United Nation (UN) has issued a report draws a dreadful image of the world economy after the outbreak of disease.

The report warns of precedent rates of unemployment and poverty in the world during the period to come as an expected fallout of the Coronavirus which threatens the planet now.
