Pakistani security forces have killed 15 militants in two separate operations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan on Saturday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan’s armed forces, reported that an intelligence-based operation was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan, where security forces engaged in a firefight with militants, resulting in the deaths of nine extremists, including several key commanders.
These militants were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities and were wanted by law enforcement agencies.
In a separate counterterrorism operation in North Waziristan, security forces neutralized six additional militants.
The operations came at a cost, as one officer and three security personnel lost their lives during the intense clashes.
