Officials in India announced on Wednesday that 11 people were killed as a result of the severe weather conditions striking various parts of the country, including heavy rains, floods, landslides, and high temperatures during the current week.
Five members of one family were killed after their house was buried by a landslide due to heavy rains in the state of Assam, BBC reported.
Others were killed as a result of sunstroke in the city of Delhi.
It is noteworthy that more than 160,000 people in the state of Assam, located in the northeast of the country, were affected by massive flood waters.
