The 10th International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts kicked off, Saturday.
The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by Dr. Neven El Kilany, the Minister of Culture, and Dr. Hala El Saied, the Minister of Planning.
More than 260 artists and groups from 160 countries are participating in the event.
In addition, some foreign communities in Egypt are participating in the event to represent their cultures.
Among the participating countries are Greece, Mexico, India, South Sudan, and Palestine.
The venues for the festival's activities are the Northern Gate of Cairo Stage, El Hanager Theater, the Cultural Garden, Children Center for Civilization and Creativity, and Bait Al Senari.
