The executive director of Al Ahly Mohamed Morgan said Monday security officials authorized 10.000 fans to attend the Red Devils clash against Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly are set to host the Tunisian side on Sunday at Al-Salam Stadium in the fifth round of the group stage.
“We have received a letter from the security authorities, allowing 10.000 fans to attend the match,” Morgan said.
The Red Devils are in an urgent need to win the game to book their ticket in the quarter-final as they now rank second with seven points headed by the Tunisian club who are at the top of Group B.
The Red Devils were drawn in Group B, alongside Platinum (Zimbabwe), Al-Hilal (Sudan), Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia).
The eight-time African champions kicked their adventure in the group stage with a 0-1 defeat from Etoile du Sahel, while they snatched a 2-1 victory over Sudan’s Al Hilal in the second round.
They defeated Zimbabwe's Platinum at Al-Salam Stadium in the third round, before holding a 1-1 draw with the Zimbabwean side in the fourth round.
Al Ahly led the Egyptian clubs in the Club World Ranking as they climbed three spots in the club ranking, to occupy the 38th position this month.
