One police officer was killed and three others were injured in a mass shooting that took place in Levelland, Texas, media agencies reported on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon. Authorities received a report that there was a "possibly armed" man wandered the 10th street area.
After the police members succeeded in identifying the location of the man, the "situation escalated" according to the police department's spokesperson.
The armed citizen opened fire against the deployed police officers. Four officers suffered from gun wounds, one of them died at the scene.
