The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has inaugurated the visitor reception hall at the Kom Ombo Temple in Aswan Governorate after its renovation.

This is part of the Ministry's efforts to improve the tourism experience for visitors to Egyptian tourist destinations, as outlined in the national strategy for tourism development in Egypt.

The Ministry has undertaken a series of projects to develop visitor reception halls and mechanisms for selling electronic tickets at archaeological sites and museums that are open for visiting, especially the most visited ones.

According to a statement recently issued by the ministry, Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, confirmed that this opening is one of the projects aimed at increasing the capacity of halls and outlets that sell entry tickets to these archaeological sites and museums.

The Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation and Supervisor of the General Administration for the Development of Services at Tourist and Archaeological Sites and Museums, Dr. Khaled Sharif, said that the visitor reception hall at the Kom Ombo Temple is the second to be developed.

He added that the Ministry had previously developed and opened the visitor reception hall in the Edfu Temple in Aswan in September.

In turn, Dr. Sharif noted that the project to expand the visitor reception halls in Egyptian temples aims to accommodate a larger number of visitors and make the entry process easier and more convenient. The Ministry hopes that these efforts will improve the tourist experience at Egyptian tourist destinations.

In the past two days, the Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation and his delegation, including Professor Alaa Samir, Advisor to the Secretary-General for Digital Transformation and General Supervisor of the Central Administration for Information Systems and Digital Transformation, and Dr. Bassem Ibrahim, Director-General of the General Administration for the Development of Services at Tourist and Archaeological Sites and Museums, inspected visitor services in some museums and archaeological sites in Luxor, Esna, El Cape, Edfu, Gebel Silsila, and Kom Ombo in Aswan.

The first self-service machine for issuing tickets for visiting museums and archaeological sites in the Valley of the Kings was also launched.
