OTTAWA, AUG 22(SEE)-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, published a video on Monday congratulating Muslims on Festival of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha).

“Today, we join Muslim communities in Canada and around the world to celebrate Eid al-Adha, which marks the end of the Hajj," he said.

He added that Eid al-Adha is a chance to reveal empathy for the poor and lessons of sacrifice.

“For all of us, Eid al-Adha is an opportunity to recognize the important contributions the Canadian Muslim community makes to our society, and to celebrate the differences that make us who we are," he pointed out.

“On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish all those observing Eid al-Adha a wonderful celebration."

On the occasion of the feast, families, and friends, attend Eid prayers to give thanks for the blessings God gave them, then gather for a meal usually red meat.

An animal is sacrificed and pided into three parts, one part for the poor, one shared out amongst relatives, and the final part served for the family.
