Later in 1932 during the reign of King ”Fuad I”, the Salamlek Palace and its royal gardens were included. The Palace is the one widely referred to now as ”Montaza Palace”. It served as the royal family’s vacation getaway for many years.

In addition to palaces and the royal gardens that once housed rare plants, the complex also contains a notable clock tower standing in the middle of the distance between the two palaces and a royal bridge styled like the palace that leads to a very small island with a lighthouse.

Khepe Abbas Helmy II palace, constructed in 1892, into a brand new hotel that celebrates the historical building’s finest features.

It was renovated by former President ”Anwar El-Sadat” to be an official presidential residence. The word ‘Salamlek’ means a place where men are allowed to meet, contrary to the word Haramlek, a place for women’s meetings.
