Acclaimed Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz turned 52 on Sunday, July 23.

On his special day, here are some interesting facts about the Keira and Gen star.

Born in Cairo, in 1971, he is also one of the highest-paid actors and is loved by his fans.

Ezz is known for his wide range of roles across blockbusters, patriotic films, and on the stage.

The actor was awarded the Beirut Film Festival, Cairo Arab Media Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, and Damascus International Film Festival Award during his career, which spanned over two decades.

Ezz is known for appearing in over 40 films and acting in over 20 series.

Among his notable works is Sherif Arafa's directorial (The Passage), which received rave reviews and became a blockbuster.

The film's remarkable success made the duo join hands for sequels, and the film was also introduced in several languages.

'Passage' is one of the best entertaining cop dramas in Egyptian cinema, and the film reportedly grossed close to 100,00000 L.E at the box office.

This movie is the first blockbuster war movie released in domestic cinemas since 1993’s 'Al-Tariq Ila Eilat' (The Road to Eilat) showcasing an Egyptian military ‘behind enemy lines’ operation during the War of Attrition 1967-1973, according to Egyptian movie makers.

Throughout his career, Ezz has collaborated with several big action stars like Ahmed Saka. 

In 2012, the two actors starred in the El Maslaha movie which tells the story of a very serious and strict officer who goes after a dangerous drug dealer to take revenge for his brother, in an attempt to try and stop the drug and weapon dealing business in the Sinai peninsula.

It became one of the top-grossing films of that year, and it was Ezz's first big hit at the box office.

His Last breakthrough role was as an Egyptian guerrilla in the action movie  'Kira and Gen' in 2022.
