Today (April 21) is the 92nd birth anniversary of Salah Jahin, who is best known as the "Poet of The Revolution." Although Jahin is primarily known for his comedic poetry, his works have a profound social and cultural purpose. Additionally, Jahin was involved in the music industry.

Jahin was born on December 25, 1930, in Cairo, and he obtained his degree from the law faculty at Cairo University. Here are some lesser-known facts about the celebrated writer:

Jahin was a poet, cartoonist, actor, and screenwriter, and one of the most respected writers of his time. Over the course of his illustrious career, he wrote a variety of films, humorous poems, and sketches.

Furthermore, Jahin composed several patriotic songs, including 'Soura' (Photograph) and the revolutionary song 'Ehna El Shaab', both of which played a significant role in the 1952 revolution.

Jahin was the editor-in-chief of Sabah el Kheir magazine in 1956 and then joined the staff of Al-Ahram newspaper. Along with journalism, he also directed many successful films, such as 'Khali Balak Men Zouzou' "Take Care of Zouzou 1972", starring the iconic actress Souad Hosny, also known as Cinderella. The film was shown in domestic cinemas for over a year, and the soundtrack and script are deeply ingrained in Egypt’s social history.

Jahin wrote over 50 plays and films throughout his career and received numerous awards for his significant contributions to Egyptian cinema, including the Egyptian Order of Science and Arts First Class in 1965, presented by the late president Gamal Abdel Nasser.

Sadly, the talented writer and artist passed away in 1986 at the age of 55.
