Egypt Celebrates World Oral Health Day in FDI's Boss Presence

CAIRO, March 21 (SEE)- In the presence of Dr. Kathryn Kell, president of World Dental Federation (FDI), Egypt celebrated World Oral Health Day couple of hours ago at Marriott Mena House hotel in Giza.

The ceremony was organized within the partnership of Unilever; one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies that was represented by “Signal” company, FDI and UNICEF.

It was attended by Dr Kathryn Kell, president of World Dental Federation (FDI), Mariano Sampitero, global brand vice president Signal at Unilever, Sheren Menem head of personal care products at Unilever Mashreq and Dr. Amany Khalifa, President of Dental Administration at Ministry of Health.

Also, Bruno Mays, UNICEF representative in Egypt, Prof. Tarek Hassan, president of Egyptian Dental Association (EDA), Dr Yasser El Gendy, president of the Egyptian dental syndicate and Dr. Nahawand Thabet, representative of the FDI in Egypt, were among attendees.

The event highlighted the importance of dental care as a crucial part of personal hygiene especially for kids.

On her part, Sheren Menem stated that Unilever’s campaign “Their lives are their future” managed to raise dental care awareness of 10 million children in Egypt since it’s been launched 30 years ago.

“We are planning to reach to 100 million children by end of 2020 and by our partnership with FDI and UNICEF,”she added.

Dr. Khalifa told SEE that Egyptian ministry of health plays an indirect role in implementing awareness campaigns through The issuance of licenses to medical caravans to be able to visit schools’ kids nation-wide.
