On Sunday, Dutch Minister of State for Immigration and Asylum Anki Brokers-Knoll made a tour at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, during her official visit to Egypt.

She was accompanied by Han-Maurits Schaapveld, Ambassador of the Netherlands in Cairo.

The two Dutch officials were received by Sabah Abdel Razek, Director General of the Egyptian Museum, who took them on a tour of the museum's various halls.

The Dutch Minister of Immigration expressed her admiration for the archaeological treasures displayed by the museum, especially those of the young King Tutankhamun. She was also keen to take souvenir photos in the museum.

Notably, the Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli received the Dutch Minister and her accompanying delegation in Cairo.

Both sides had talks that focused on ways of improving citizens' living conditions, especially in areas and villages exporting illegal migrants.

Madbouli also drew the Dutch delegation's attention to the burdens Egypt bears as a result of hosting over 5 million migrants and refugees, citing President Sisi’s directives to provide all health and educational services and job opportunities.

He said that he looks forward to furthering cooperation with the Netherlands and the European Union in the areas of migration and development, to support community development efforts, facilitate safe migration opportunities, and increase job opportunities for Egyptian youth in the EU market.

Meanwhile, the Dutch official commended the Egyptian government’s efforts to eliminate the causes of illegal migration.
