Discovery Channel to Broadcast Documentary Film on Zahi Hawass Discoveries

The American Discovery Channel announced on its official Facebook page that it will broadcast tomorrow, Sunday, a documentary film entitled “The Lost Tombs” about the discoveries of the Egyptian mission headed by Dr. Zahi Hawass, in the Western Valley, “Valley of the Monkeys,” in Luxor Governorate.

The film presents the discovery of 45 royal workshops for the manufacture of gold, pottery, furniture for funeral, and embalming cache.

It also features the discovery of the first industrial zone of the Eighteenth Dynasty, in addition to 30 industrial workshops, including workshops to discover and clean gold and to color pottery, in addition to knitting needles for funeral furniture, and wood to establish ancient tombs, in the Western Valley in Luxor.

The excavations in this area began in 2017, while in 1799, the first expedition of Napoleon Bonaparte recorded a fraction of the newly discovered workshops.
