US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green introduced six amendments aimed at stopping aid to Ukraine and withdrawing the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
"I have submitted six amendments, and I would like to ask the Rules Committee to consider them," the representative said during a House Rules Committee hearing on the National Defense Authorization Act. Amendment 103 bans Ukrainian funding until there is a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
"President Biden's decision to send billions of dollars in weapons and aid to Ukraine has drawn the United States into a proxy war with Russia that we cannot afford and endangered all peace efforts," said Taylor Areen.
"Instead of funding an endless war abroad, the United States should seek a peaceful end to the conflict that will save lives," she added.
Taylor Greene also criticized NATO, saying that the alliance is "not a reliable partner".
She added, "Ukraine is not the 51st state of the. Amendment No. 6 directs the president to withdraw the United States from NATO. They are not a reliable partner."
