Antiquities Ministry Organizes Courses on Administrative and Technical Principles of Archaeological Work

The Central Training Unit and the Museums Sector of the Supreme Council of Antiquities organized a training course entitled "Administrative and Technical Foundations of Archaeological Work" for several archaeologists and restoration specialists working in various archaeological areas and museums in various Egyptian governorates.

It is held as a part of the Ministry of Tourism &Antiquities' plan to raise the efficiency of its employees and improve work in its various sectors.

The training course was held for three days at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Cairo, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Abdel Halim, Director General of the Museum, and Dr. Basem Jihad, Supervisor of the Central Training Unit.

For his part, Dr. Ali Abdel Halim explained that the course dealt with specialized training on the method of making imitation statues, which increases the trainee's experience in distinguishing them from the original ones during inspections and fieldwork and develops the skills of specialists in detecting original and imitated antiquities.

Dr. Abdul Halim indicated that during the coming period, several training courses and workshops will be implemented in the different governorates, which aim to enhance workers’ awareness and raise their efficiency.

A group of Egyptian university professors and directors of relevant departments of the Supreme Council of Antiquities will lecture at the session.
