US President Donald Trump attacked the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle for comments she made back in the time of his presidential campaign, when she said that she would move to Canada if he got elected.

Trump, preparing to visit UK in two days, described the Duchess as "nasty".

In an interview with The Sun, Mr Trump said he was not aware of comments made by the Duchess about him, and said: "I didn't know that. What can I say? "I didn't know that she was nasty."

When asked about the Duchess suggesting she would leave America for Canada if he was elected, Mr Trump said: "A lot of people are moving here (to the US)."

However, Trump said LA-born Meghan will make "a very good" American princess, and said of her joining the royal family: "It is nice, and I am sure she will do excellently.

Listen here to what she said.

The US president is set to meet members of the royal family, including the Queen, the Cambridges, but Meghan will not be present.

Protests are expected as some already plan to take to the streets to make clear their opposition to the US leader and his policies.

According to British 'Mirror', owners of a huge inflatable Donald Trump baby blimp have been granted permission to fly it over London during the US president's state visit.

Organisers plan to fly the blimp - which depicts Mr Trump wearing a nappy and clutching a mobile phone - over Parliament Square on Tuesday, the second day of the state visit.
