Ziad El-Sisi qualified for the quarter-finals of the sword weapon competition at the World Fencing Championship.
The tournament was held in Milan, Italy from 22 to 31 July.
Sisi beat Hungary's Tamas Dixie 15-13. In the quarter-finals, Sisi will face the winner of Italy's Michel Gallo and Canada's Saul Jordan.
Sisi also beat Romania's Matti Seydou 15-11 in the round of 32. The day also beat Iceland's Andrej Nikolais 15-7 in the main round of 64.
Sisi is in twelfth place with 108 points in the world rankings.
