Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that his peace plan includes a vision for US security guarantees extending for 15 years, adding that he had requested security guarantees of up to 50 years from US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky indicated that the 20-point peace plan should be put to a public referendum, according to the official Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform on Monday.
He added that a meeting with the Russians is possible after US President Donald Trump and European leaders approve the documents.
Zelensky explained that he wants to hold a meeting of national security advisors from the United States and Europe in Ukraine in the coming days, followed by a meeting with European leaders. He stressed that a ceasefire of at least 60 days is necessary to hold the referendum.
