Kyiv's leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, described his phone conversation with US President Donald Trump as "good," saying they discussed specific steps that could be taken to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel: "I had a good conversation with President Trump. We discussed the need to make further efforts for peace, particularly the specific steps that can be taken."
In his conversation with Trump, Zelenskyy claimed that Ukraine is ready to negotiate in any way, but only after a ceasefire.
Zelenskyy added, "Trump asked about the situation on the battlefield, and I briefed him on the latest developments."
During the conversation, Zelenskyy and Trump also welcomed the Ukrainian parliament's ratification of the metals agreement.
