Zamalek outlasted El-Gouna 4-3 in the Egyptian Premier League’s 30th round on Sunday evening.

The Hurghada had a rough start to the match, but were able to snatch a goal 14 minutes into the game through Walter Bwalya’s thumping header.

Ahmed Sayed Zizo’s free-kick brought Zamalek level in the 39th minute after his effort left El-Gouna goalkeeper Islam Tarek stunned and unable to make the save.

Zamalek broke the deadlock in the second half through Youssef Obama in the 56th minute of the game after scoring Achraf Bencharki’s cross.

Ten minutes later, Zamalek enforced their lead as Mahmoud Alaa converted successfully from the spot to make the score 3-1.

In the 75th minute, Walter Bwalya’s  reduced the scoring gap for El-Gouna. The visitors surprised Zamalek and scored the equalizer four minutes later through Louay Badr, whose well-placed header left goalkeeper Mahmoud Gennesh no chance.

However, Zamalek were awarded another penalty second before the end of the match as Mahmoud Alaa stepped up to take his second spot-kick of the game and scored to secure all three points for his side.

Zamalek managed to maintain second place in the Egyptian Premier League table with 61 points after 30 games played.
