Zamalek were exposed to a disappointing 1-1 draw against underdog team FC Masr, thus ending their perfect start to the campaign in addition to losing much needed momentum against their inevitable clash with arch rivals El-Ahly.

The White Giants handily defeated El-Ettehad and Masr El-Makkassa in the first and second phases of the league before stumbling against mediocre side FC Masr.

Zamalek controlled the early phase of the first half pressuring the underdog team into their own penalty area in fear of conceding a goal early on.

The White Giants were able to turn their pressure into a goal as they scored their goal in the 15th minute after Ashraf Ben Sharky received a brilliant through ball from Youssef Obama pitting him one on one with the goal.

In the 39th minute, FC Masr wasted an easy chance to equal the scoring Mostafa Sultan received a pass and saw himself one on one with goal, but wasted it hilariously across the bar.

In a huge surprise, Omar El-Habashy scored the equalizing goal for his team in the 47th minute after a beautiful tactical game play.

The second half wasn't as fruitful as the first in terms of goals as both teams failed to find the goal. The White Giants pressured greatly to score the winning goal but with no avail.

Zamalek now hold fourth place with seven points behind El-Ahly, Pyramids, and Mokawlon respectively, while FC Masr hold the 14th place with only two points.
