Archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass mourned the death of Egyptian archaeologist Prof. Dr. Shafia Bedir, professor of Egyptian archeology at Ain Shams University.
Hawass affirmed that she was one of the most important Egyptologists in terms of knowledge and morals, and she was one of the respected and loyal friends.
Hawass added, "She had great positions in defending the antiquities of Egypt, and she was the most important archaeologist specializing in the ancient Egyptian language, especially in the Ptolemaic period."
"Hawass" felt sorry that he could not attend the funeral ceremonies because he is outside Cairo. He asked God to have his mercy on her soul and inspire her family, friends, students and lovers, with patience and solace.
