Prominent Egyptian actress Yousra urged Egyptians in a video posted on Twitter to take self-isolation seriously, as well as to stay at their homes, and not to leave during the current period to stem the spread of the Coronavirus.

"Stay at the home for your family, loved ones, and your country... We must abide by the county’s instructions in order for the crisis to pass, God willing." Yousra captioned.

She also urged the Egyptians to bear the responsibility of staying at home, as well as to enjoy their house, life, family, and loved ones.

"Enjoy sitting together and get closer to each other and rejoice in the grace you are in. We are going through a crisis, not just us, but the whole world is passing through the crisis; god we will help us, and return us back from it safe and sound. " Yousra concluded.

As of Wednesday, the total number of confirmed positive cases in Egypt reached 456, while the death toll totaled 21, according to the Egyptian Health Ministry.

It is worth mentioning that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic on March 11 as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

The data collected so far showed that at least 491,120 people are infected and about 22,165 people have died.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.

It is known that older people appear to be more vulnerable to the effects of the emerging virus.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation for 14 days as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around you and yourself from contracting COVID-19.
