World leaders have sent warm congratulations to the Republic of Cyprus on the occasion of its Independence Day, underscoring the country’s strategic role in international relations and regional stability.
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio hailed Cyprus as a vital partner of Washington, noting that close cooperation enhances trade, tackles illicit financial flows, and bolsters regional security, outcomes which he said contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to President Nikos Christodoulides, highlighting that the coming year will mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Cyprus, alongside the fifth anniversary of their strategic partnership.
Xi expressed Beijing’s readiness to deepen what he described as a traditional friendship between the two peoples.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also conveyed his best wishes, emphasising the enduring ties between Cyprus and Egypt. He affirmed that through joint commitment, bilateral cooperation would continue to expand for the mutual benefit of both nations.
