Hollywood actor Will Smith, who has joked about stepping into politics in the past,  revealed Monday he is open to a political career.

Speaking to Jon Favreau on 'Pod Save America' podcast, Smith noted that he would not rule out a political career in the future, pointing out that he does not have any immediate plans.

'I think for now I will let that office get cleaned up a little bit and then I will consider that at some point down the line. I do not know, it is like, I absolutely have an opinion, I’m optimistic, I’m hopeful, I believe in understanding between people and I believe in the possibility of harmony,' he added.

The "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star affirmed that he will do his part, whether it remains artistic or at some point ventures into the political arena.

Smith is currently filming movie "King Richard", portraying Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus Williams, who raised the tennis legends.

He is attached to star in a number of other projects, including "The Council", where he plays real-life gangster Nicky Barnes.
