Ukraine has been hit by new, widespread electricity outages following Russian air attacks, the country’s Energy Ministry announced on Monday, underscoring continued pressure on critical infrastructure.
According to the ministry, consumers in the Kharkiv and Zhytomyr regions are currently experiencing power cuts as a result of the strikes. Emergency repair work is underway, with efforts to restore electricity continuing wherever the security situation allows.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the state electricity transmission operator Ukrenergo ordered an emergency shutdown of parts of the power grid due to damage sustained in earlier attacks, officials said.
Reports also indicated that Russian drone strikes targeted Lviv and Kyiv, as well as cities closer to the front line, including Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, adding to concerns over the resilience of Ukraine’s energy network.
