The World Health Organization (WHO) and other bodies under the United Nations (UN) warn of the breaking down of health facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The UN organization pointed out that eleven days of fierce confrontations between the Palestinian resistant groups in the Strip and the Israeli forces left 8538 injured people and 257 deaths.
Marguerite Harris, a spokeswoman of the WHO, indicates that the situation is very dangerous as it exceeds the capabilities of the health facilities.
She added that the international community must work hard to secure providing medical supplies to Gaza after half of the inventory of medicines was consumed during the aggression.
She also calls for opening humanitarian paths to deliver aids to the population of the Strip.
Harris stressed that the real challenges related to the blockade implying the land crossings that link Gaza to the outer world.
She went on to say that about 30 medical facilities in Gaza were damaged during the Israeli aggression in addition to damages of roads that hinder the arrival of ambulances.
She unveiled that all hospitals in Gaza did not work at full capacity, meanwhile, two hospitals did not work at all.
On the other hand, the WHO did not mention the number of injures and the toll of death on the Israeli side.
However, Matias Shamali, manager of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), expressed his deep concern at a spike of infection with the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) because the population of Gaza thronged when sough to shelter from the Israeli strikes.
Fabrizio Carboni, regional director of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Middle East, stressed the importance of delivering medical supplies to the Gaza Strip.
He affirmed that reconstruction of the Strip may take a number of years and a longer time to rehabilitate the broken souls.
