The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported over 118,000 new displacements in Lebanon in less than a week, as escalating violence and deteriorating living conditions threaten to overwhelm the country's already strained healthcare system.

The organization warned that the situation in Lebanon could lead to the spread of diseases due to the harsh living conditions and inadequate medical infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces carried out an airstrike near the Al-Jamous area in southern Beirut, according to a live broadcast from Reuters. A thick cloud of smoke was seen rising over the capital after residents reported hearing a powerful explosion.

Israeli media sources revealed that the airstrike targeted a meeting of senior Hezbollah leaders in southern Beirut. An Israeli security official stated that if the assassination attempt is successful, it would be a "seismic event for Hezbollah."

An Israeli official also noted that Israel has entered a new phase in the ongoing conflict, adding that Tel Aviv continues to pursue Hezbollah leaders, as reported by "Yedioth Ahronoth."
