The Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed his "grave concern" about the unprecedented wave of "COVID- 19" infections in China, asking Beijing for detailed information on the seriousness of the situation.

"The WHO is very concerned about the development of the situation in China," Gebreissos said in his weekly press conference.

He added, "In order to fully assess the risks involved in the situation, the World Health Organization needs more detailed information on the seriousness of the disease, the cases that were admitted to hospitals, and the needs at the level of intensive care units."

And in Beijing, the Chinese authorities announced yesterday that they had not recorded any deaths from “COVID- 19” the day before, after they changed the method of calculating deaths from the deadly virus, despite an unprecedented wave of the spread of the “Coronavirus".

Since 2020, China has imposed strict health restrictions in the name of what is known as the “zero COVID” policy, which allowed protection for the most vulnerable and those who are not vaccinated.

However, the Chinese government ended most of these measures at the beginning of this December, amid increasing discontent among the population and major repercussions on the economy.
