The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tadros Adhanom, warned that the number of deaths resulting from the emerging Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) has increased since the beginning of last December.

He noted that the number of reported deaths in the last 8 weeks reached about 170,000 deaths, but the actual number may be much higher.

Dr.Adhanom, said, in a press conference yesterday, Tuesday, in Geneva, Switzerland, that 3 years after declaring a health emergency due to the Coronavirus, the Health Emergency Committee will hold a meeting this week to consider whether the Coronavirus still represents a global health emergency.

Tadros expressed his constant concern about the situation in many countries, especially with the increase in the number of deaths, stressing that the virus still raises the eyebrows of specialists, and it will continue to kill people if all the required treatments are not provided.
